Frederick Cavendish Memorial.

This memorial, called the Cavendish memorial is a work of art with its top spire and intricate gothic design. It stands on the roadside between Bolton Abbey and  Barden Tower. It almost beckons you to stop and to have a closer look. The amount of work that has gone into this memorial is amazing, with the upright multiple pillars and the carvings at the top and even down to the gushing fountain kept us in awe of the craftsmanship that has gone into the structure.
Being aware that it is a memorial, the beauty of it is tinged with the sadness of Lord Frederick Charles Cavendish and his tragic death in Ireland.

The Memorial is better to get to on foot and is only a short distance from the Priory grounds along a footpath adjacent to the road.
