Sawley Abbey is a fabulous place to walk around and we spent a good couple of hours having a look at everything and trying to work out what was what, there is a fabulous Bakehouse and further up there is a Latrine which can be climbed into if you're feeling energetic.
There are many things to look at although the ruin is quite spread out over a large area we enjoyed this place and the peace here, we would recommend that you visit it but make sure that you read the information boards dotted about, although these are in disrepair too, quite fitting really.
In another part of the ruin, there is a fabulous tiled floor and with what looks like a grave cover, which is set into part of the tiled floor.
